User Ratings and Reviews
1 Stars Over 80% of loan modifications fail
This book fails to tell its readers that over 80% of loan modifications fail when people try to handle them on their own. This is not a simple process. Do not be fooled. See www.us-loan-modification.com to further review.
The best way to get this done is to work through professionals with a money-back guarantee.
2 Stars Decent info, but most info is on the web for free.
This was a decent book, albeit brief and inadequate due to its format; a book, unlike a website, cannot keep up with the ever changing landscape in this industry. For example, the book doesn’t cover the how the Obama administration’s initiative, “Making Home Affordable”, is affecting (or not affecting distressed homeowners). Nor does it cover changes occurring in the industry as it attempts to move towards increased standardization. It doesn’t cover the diminishing importance of the “hardship” letter or how banks are “evolved” their methods for calculating qualifying debt-to-income ratios.
A lot of current information can be found on the web by creating a google alert on “loan modification”, ezine.com and from the Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) website: http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/nsc/faqlm.cfm. Also, there’s even a free online loan modification training program for consumers at www.LoanModificationForFree.com.
Thus far I’ve yet to find any really good books on Amazon regarding loan modification. There are many good books on foreclosure prevention, but sadly there’s a void when it comes to quality loan modification books.
